Owner Of Mad Cedar Woodworks, LLC
Hi, I’m Anthony. I developed a fond affection and appreciation of woodworking as a high schooler, but never had the time playing multiple sports to ever truly pursue it outside of school. Thus, my woodworking journey began the “old fashioned way”…out of necessity.
After getting married and buying my first house in 2004, I found myself finding a lot of reasons to begin purchasing woodworking tools as I went “all-in” on the DIY work scene. It wasn’t more than a year before I had basically set up a full woodworking shop. At this time, my wife and I did not have kids yet, so I had the bandwidth to start “messing around” with some of the more extreme areas of the craft, specifically chainsaw-milling. After purchasing my first rig and sawing my first log, I was hooked for life. I milled over a thousand board feet of oak and maple on that mill in my first year, and began using the slabs a few years later for all sorts of projects (bar tops, workbenches, dining room tables) for family and friends.
I started my own web development company in 2007, and have been primarily building websites for the last 15 years. Along the way, necessity and curiosity fueled what would be multiple finished basement projects, decks and bar builds. More recently, a recent home move and some unique events found me making a lot of table tops and bar tap handles. I received a lot of compliments on this work and my wife urged me to begin trying to extend my reach. This website will now be the catalyst for me to branch out beyond the “friends and family” circle.
Our Shop page will have a list of items that are available, but if there is something you had in mind that you do not see, please reach out to me and let’s discuss. I enjoy working with live edge slabs, and doing unique one-off items with a more “rustic” and “worn” flair. Yes, think “Chip and Joanna”, lol. The buzzwords I’m supposed to type here are “character, unique, hand-made”. There, I wrote them. I take the work very seriously, but don’t take myself seriously at all. I am all about having some fun and enjoying the process of taking an idea and turning it into something cool and unique.
If this sounds like you, then please reach to me and let’s get started on a project!
